Planmakers has completed bicycle and pedestrian plans for Boise, Emmett, and Rexburg, Idaho. Recent work includes evaluating 20 gaps in Boise’s Ridge to Rivers
Bikeway System and making recommendation for connection improvements to
Ada County Highway District. Planmakers has also assisted communities in successfully
applying for funds to complete bicycle projects. They are familiar with
transportation issues and
American Association of State
Highway and Transportation Officials (ASHTO) standards having prepared the Bicycle-Pedestrian
Design Manual for Ada County. This document is a comprehensive design manual for
the construction of pedestrian and bicycle facilities. Other work includes
preparing the Idaho Bicycling Guide, a handsome map publication for
Idaho
Transportation Department.. Trail Projects
In preparing comprehensive plans, neighborhood plans, and scenic byway plans Planmakers has prepared concepts, maps and key components of numerous hiking and biking trails. Key components include designing trailheads, creative design solutions for special sites, and handsomely illustrated interpretive panels. Several trail projects give the public the opportunity to appreciate an area’s history, beauty, and solitude.
