Creating places where art and culture merge is a Planmakers trademark. An example of this is the recently produced Boise Cultural
District Master Plan, which deliberately
integrates the arts into downtown
redevelopment.
The Boise Cultural District now plays an essential role in
the life of the city and integrates public art into the daily lives of
those who live, work, and visit Boise. Through an active participation
process, Planmakers helps identify a group’s mission, goals, programs,
building needs, management,
and funding. Planmakers has prepared a number
of other plans to expand Idaho’s cultural facilities and assist cultural
institutions plan for the future. Successful examples in Boise, Idaho,
include the Idaho Black History Museum, the
Log Cabin Literary Center,
Hispanic Cultural Center of Idaho,
Rupert’s Wilson Theater, the Pon
Yam Museum in Idaho City, and
Bown House, a heritage education center.
